Anyone know when the fixtures for 2010 will be announced. I know 2 years ago it was March sometime cos I was able to book our Paris flights straight away. Want to be on the ball this time too cos they more than doubled in price from when I booked them at lunchtime and close of business that day!

They should be announced in the next few weeks, certainly by late April. They're usually announced a few weeks after the completion of the tournament.

No doubt Ryanair and Aer Lingus will be keeping just as close an eye as you!

No idea of the draw, but obviously the away games will be Paris and London, with Ireland hosting Wales, Scotland & Italy as usual.

Air France all the way for me!

My sisters went to Paris for the France game last year - via Zurich. Talk about roundabout! It was still the cheapest by far, and they've been singing the praises of SwissAir since, as all the booze is free on the flight.

Oh, AND you get duty free since Switzerland aren't part of the EU.

Sounds like a win-win situation to me.

I think we paid about €150 on Air France for last years match but that was booking within 10 mins of the fixture list being announced, 11 months before the game! By 5pm same day the same flights were over €400. Within a week the Zurich flights were showing up as cheapest on skyscanner.net

We do the France and Scotland trips on alternate years since we can pretty much guarantee tickets to these matches because they sell them online. A bit of craic to be had too!

Does any1else get pissed off that its set that Ireland play France and England at home one year then away the next year?

This greatly improves our chances of winning one year and greatly hurts our chances the next.

I think who plays who home and away should be a random draw every 2 years.

It wont change again till it becomes the 7 nations. When do people think Romania will be good enough to enter 10/15 years? I think Italy or Scotland getting kicked out is more likely to happen than 7 nations

Not really because we've handed it to the English home and away for the last few years. France has consistantly been the only problem. Right now Wales away is much tougher than England away. If you're good enough you'll win anywhere though.

I was a bit disappointed the Argies didn't join the 6 Nations but can't see Romania joining until the Italians can hold there own which will be a good while.

do you not think the 6N is a big enough tournament already?

I think it would only be for the good of rugby world wide if we had more competitive teams, but itll be a long time before we'll see the 6N expanding.

I'd love a 10 Nations competition, where if you lost one game at the start you werent out of contention, 9 weeks of high class rugby instead of 5 (but i guess it'll never happen in my lifetime and im 24 ).
