Somebody please explain how to fix this error message, An error occurred during the download operation (80710103)

I get it when trying to download updates for games. I can browse the PS store and download from there but cannot download any updates for games or Home.

I am using a Belkin wireless router and have tried downloading updates both wirelessly and with an ethernet cable. I have also rebooted the broadband modem and router. My PS3's firmware is up to date.

I saw a lot of that error code in the past, I'm sorry to say. Downloads would fly along up to maybe 15%, then sit idle for a while before giving that error. I was only ever on wireless but happy to report I haven't seen it in months, since I spent a bit of time configuring my connection to finally get the elusive NAT1.

If memory serves, I had to manually configure everything; IP adresses, DNS servers etc. and place the PS3s IP adress in the DMZ on my router. Search back a bit on this forum, the NAT1/2 topic came up fairly regularly and there was some handy guides posted and linked to. In short, NAT1 is what you want when you test your connection but many folk have no problem with NAT2.
