excellent. I just sent my membership application form today.

I've never played the course but it looks beautiful from the pictures on the site.

Cant wait to play them either. Im playing it saturday and sunday so i dont have to wait long. I had a quick look at the 4th hole last week and the green slopes a hell of a lot more than what you see in the pictures. Thank funk we dont have to play the cris crossing holes any more.

Haven't played Corballis in years but due to play there next month. How will the new holes affect the overall par for the course? Last time I played it was something like par65 I think.

Im pretty sure the par will be 66. Its two par 3's and two par 4's that are opening. They are gonna be the business and will improve the course no-end im sure. You should go along and play it, will be a lot different to the corballis you played years ago. You can see photos of them here:

A little off topic, but just a little.

My membership there should go through in the next few days i hope (are they usually quick at processing?) and i then need to get a handicap.

    Do they:
    1. Let you put your name on comp timesheet and play for h'cap
    2. Can a non-coballis, GUI member sign a card for you for h'cap purposes.

Can't wait to play it. Love links golf.

For any golfers currently out of work, Corballis and Elmgreen are running a deal where the unemployed can play midweek off-peak for €10.

Welcome aboard!! I joined there about a month ago and what i did was print out the membership form off the website, filled it out and brought it to the clubhouse. They did it for me there and then and as soon as i handed the form and the payment in, they let me play the course under the members rate. They then sent me a letter a few days later confirming my membership.
With regards timesheets etc. I usually play on a sunday and then after my round i go into the clubhouse and book again for next sunday. The lads behind the counter just put your name under the time slot you want. You could ring them either, ive done that too.
As far as i know they are quick enough at processing hadicaps but of course the speed of it all depends on how quick you can get 3 cards together. Any cards ive given in have been signed by fellow members so i dont know your answer to your second query sorry.

Played them twice over the weekend and they are very very good. None of the 4 new holes are long but they are each very challenging and very unforgiving of errant tee/approach shots. They have the deepest rough ive ever seen and the deepest bunkers ive ever seen also (particularly the greenside bunker on hole 7). If you are not on the fairway/green, you are in serious trouble. A welcome addition to the course anyway and you will have to be on top of your game to play them to your handicap.
