Hi all I have moved the balances from a Halifax card and BOI Advantage card to a new BOI Clear card this month, and closed the 2 old cards. Do I now have to pay government duty on all 3 cards?

Do I now have to pay government duty on all 3 cards?

The stamp duty due on April 1st is for 2008, so only payable on cards that were used last year.

If you close one card and open another in the same year, you only have to pay one stamp duty, unless the cards overlaped in use...
