    Hey All,

If you choose to do Science at Ordinary Level for the Junior Cert can you do Biology at higher level for the Leaving Cert?

My sister is about to sign off the levels on her JC subjects and would like to do Science at Ordinary Level because she finds the Physics and Chemistry very difficult but she'd like to do Biology at higher level for the Leaving Cert

    Any ideas?

    Thanks
    Orlee

Yeah, there aren't really any rules about what subjects you can do for the LC, as it were. You can take up subjects you didn't do at all for the JC and it's no problem. The only reason one wouldn't do OL for JC and then HL for LC is that there's going to be quite a steep leap in terms of standard between the two.

She should attempt subjects at the highest possible level at JC. There is a giant leap in standard between OL JC and HL LC.

If she's good at the Biology questions, she would have to not bother answering anything else to fail at Junior Cert. Higher.
Much better get a D or C in Higher Level than an A in Ordinary.
