I am claiming job seekers benefit since november last year.. i am now wondering if i would be entitled to a medical card?? i printed down the form and there is a section on it that asks if i am living with my parents...

i was under the impression once you are claiming benefit you are automatically entitled to one?? the reason i thought this was because a year ago a friend of mine came back from a year away in oz and went on dole and he was living with his parents and he got a medical card even though he was living with his parents

basically my question is....if you are claiming jobseekers benefit and you want to get a medical card is it relevant that you are living at home with your parents??? like do they take your parents income into account then??

no one ever asked me if i was living with my parents when i was applying for jobseekers benefit!!

Jobseekers benefit is your stamps so its not means tested but when they run out you'll be means tested

it all depends on your outgoings, income etc
i live at home but i have a car loan of 240 a month and medical bills of 100 a month. i showed them documentation to back this up and i got my medical card this tuesday. they say its a 14 week waiting list but i kept ringing and ringing and got it after 8 weeks
