Well, it sure as hell was no "Company Man" nor was it a "classic" like the previews said it would be, sadly Fuller was constrained by the poor writing and plotlines already laid down this season.

BUT...it defnately had elements of Season 1 episodes, that set piece with Tracy was very good, add to this TWO Heroes got killed off!!! :D

But it had flaws, Micah as Rebel was way too obvious, no Sylar?...thank god no Nathan and a very small bit of Peter. But did anyone notice Fuller totally ripped off Superman????????

 i mean the new one, that whole love scene on the roof, but he did throw in a nice little twist with it all being a Parkman projection, The Hiro/Ando stuff was just ANNOYING

But Fuller did do a throwback to season one with Hiro freezing time....they put alot more budget into this episode as well, overall it was good but NO Company Man and it just might be too little too late

I saw alot of pushing daisies influence tbh.

Was all a bit fantasy. Not a bad episode overall but not a scratch on season one. Not a classic but the best for a while tbh.

I haven't seen it yet, but which 2 heroes got killed, I don't don't care about knowing before I see the show.

Never seen Pushing Daisies so didn't pick up on the parrallels to his show and this episode....who got killed?

Tracy/freezer girl/ali larter (but she did wink...so, is she really not dead?) and that blonde chick who's akin to The Flash, Brea Grant.....

    ***MANY SPOILERS IN THIS POST***

Before I say what I have to say about this episode, let me say this: I was afraid of liking this episode a lot. I was afraid that I'd get over-enthused and come on here going "Wowzerz d00dz, dat wz loike 4m4z1ngz0rz!!" and be a total spa about Bryan Fuller's return. So I'm not gonna do that. I'm just gonna calmly state what I thought of the episode. So know now that these are my honest opinions of the episode and not some lame Fuller fan-boy crap.

    Character by character:

Hiro and Ando were very very not annoying in this episode. Which was ****ing GREAT! Couldn't believe they didn't do my tits in. Hiro's power being returned (in half) was an excellent move. He gets his power back with no silly time-travel lark. Awesome. Ando's power is slick also. He's Raiden, ha!

Angela had a great storyline. Nice to see her being made to run like the rest rather than sit back and watch everything happen like usual.

HRG is really playing the game and going places. Liking his development.

Mohinder was annoying, of course, but appeared very little and got well-tasered when he did so hip hip.

Baby Matt has a slick power that was really needed for Hiro to get his power back. Dunno if they will/should use it much in future episodes but it did its charm.

Peter showing up to save the day was awesome but I want him to come in contact with Baby Parkman.

Tracy is almost certainly the "fake-out" death that the producers were talking about. Her new control on her powers was amazing, right from the shot of her breathing cold air in the hot room. Her last scene was awesome.

Rebel being Micah was predictable but, realistically to the plot, who else could it be. They gave him nice motivation to help Tracy and the whole idea of him helping people has been there since Season One. Liked it.

Matt was using his powers really well this episode. Hopefully, with Fuller's influence, he'll use it when he needs it like this in future and not just when it fits the plot.

Daphne's final scene was great. When I saw Matt fly, I was ready to get out of my chair and leave but the revelation was a great pay-off. Touching scene and a good way to finish their relationship!

Claire wasn't in this episode and I was very happy about that. In fact, I didn't even notice her absence until I just now tried to think who I was leaving out. Same goes for Nathan.

Sylar is now helping Danko (being that he caught Eric Doyle for him) which is an interesting plot-turn for him but kinda unjustified. Hopefully they can make something good of it. I hope Sylar is dead by the end of the season though.

Also, I watch Pushing Daisies but I didn't really see any similarities in the writing or direction. I think saying that is kinda a cop-out (unless you've got something to back it up with, in which case tell!).

Great episode. Looking forward to more of this standard.

Well I actually meant that I saw similarities in Daphnes last scene to some of the pushing daisies material. All abit surreal but believable at the same time but it was not a cop out. Just my own opinion.

Maybe I should have clarified that.

    Also I liked pushing daisies.

Hmm, so similarities in approach, not in style? Yeh I can kinda dig that alright. Pushing Daisies was awesome but if it's end will help Heroes get back to form then I'm happy enough with that!

I actually enjoyed this episode, more than anything this season anyway.

Hiro and Ando weren't half as annoying as they have been. Really good idea to give Hiro back just part of his power. So teleporting and no time travel (hopefully anyway),just the ability to pause time. Also Ando's power doing more than just charging other people's powers is good as well, otherwise he was still useless. Parkman's baby had an interesting little power, which I assume was just so Hiro could get a power.

I knew Micah would be rebel,it made sense and I'm not disappointed about it. He never annoyed me as he seemed to do with other people and he always wanted to help people,so I'm not unhappy about it.

Tracy's cold snap was pretty cool,I wonder now is she actually dead,we saw he eye move, was it a tear? a wink? will she be able to reform kind of like the T-1000 in terminator? or is she just dead? which would really be the better option. Ali Larter could still be in the cast because there is a 3rd copy of her out there somewhere.

I too nearly turned off the show when Matt started flying, but really nice twist to see it was all him using his powers to send Daphne off. I reckon Fuller read all the fan reaction to Daphne surviving the first time when everyone thought she was dead and were p!ssed when she was actually alive the whole time, and then just decided to kill her off for good this time.He did it well though.

Other minor things,Angela on the run for once,Peter saving her,Sylar catching the puppet man for Danko.

Not an amazing episode but hopefully this might start a pickup in quality for the last few episodes of the season.

There seems to be a bit of a story line appearing for the last couple of episodes, this I would count as an average episode or a little above but I think the show just needs a more of a purpose.

A lot will ride on the next episode and some of the annoying traits seem to be ironed out from past episodes. Disappointed with Danko's character he just seems to be one dimension since the first time he appeared he hasn't grown with the show.

I actually found this the most enjoyable episode in ages and I'd no idea Fuller was involved in it. Explains a lot. It was a considerable improvement on the writing up to now.

I particularly liked the stuff with Tracy and thought the cold snap bit was very well done - up until the blinking eye and the shed tear. I felt that it was overdramatic, although if it signifies that she is still alive then that's fair enough. If she is actually dead though then I think that extra scene was unnecessary. Just a small gripe I'd have.

I liked the fact the Matt/Daphne romance has been shelved as it was way too preposterous. I actually felt the episode might have taken a nosedive when I saw Parkman flying and the scene over Paris, but when it was revealed to be happening only in her mind through Matt I thought it was a pretty cool twist.

Overall thumbs up. It was entertaining and back to basics. More please.

Was a great episode, the best since season 1. I was about to give up watching heroes, but this episode has saved the day. :D

Only problems I had with it were:

    -No Sylar :'(
-I wanted Claude to be Rebel, not micha
    -No Nathan :'(

No claire in the episode was great however, the show really doesn't need her at all.

Enjoyed this episode. I didn't notice any gaping plot holes for a change which is always nice. I also like how Hiro's gotten some of his powers back, good way of removing the time travel and keeping his character viable. Will we see the baby turn off powers? It'd be a good way to get rid of Claire.

best episode so far this season in my opinion. I had considered leaving the show, but this gives me some hope.

As was mentioned above Matt flying was a great misdirection and turned out to be a nice touch.

and again as has already been mentioned, Cold snap was very cool bar the wink.

A good episode which had me smiling at Hiro & Andos antics rather than getting pissed off at it.

I had guessed Rebel was Micah but it still doesnt sit right with me because I feel what we've seen Rebel do is beyond Micahs abilities.

I'd like to know why Tracy was able to freeze herself though, seems a bit self-defeating on the whole evolutionary path but hey what do I know... I'll be pissed off if shes actually dead given the blink & tear when part of her head was on the ground. At least if shes alive that can justify it but if that was their way of saying good bye to her its just a piss take.

The first episode which hasn't annoyed me in any major way in a while. That can only be a good thing. :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,837 ✭✭✭abelard

Yeah I thought it was pretty decent as well.

When it was just messages Rebel was sending I had a vague thought (more hope) it would be Gitelman back again (
    even though she's....kind of....dead
), but when Rebel started to shut down the building and whatnot, there really was no way it could be anyone but Micah.

I quite liked Daphne to be honest, so a little sad they killed her off, but it's nothing major.

A little more hope for next weeks episode that usual anyway!

Pretty good episode. Micah being Rebel was obvious. Tracy's scene was class. Think she will be coming back as every heroes power seems to develop (Parkman controling minds) so this could be the next step for Tracy. Good to see Hiro has a power back. Not sure if his time traveling power is linked to stopping time or not. Like Nervous Wreck I hope that baby Parkman does meet Peter.

I hope that Sylar is playing with Danko and that he'll meet a very gruesome end.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned it yet, but that opening scene, with the shaving close ups, the odd focus and the scraping of the blade along the skin, felt like either a nod to or rip-off of the opening to Dexter. Also why did they completely overstep the fact that Sylar was in the apartment and left the guy with a stuffed rabbit.

Also did anyone else want Ando to shout "HADOKEN!!!" when he used his special power to blast that guy back, lol :D

In the comics+season 1 the computer hacker was an Israeli. From the comics she was killed off but interfaced into the whole computer system. I was expecting her to be the rebel but appears the comics are for the most part ignored.

Makes more sense for it to be Micah as a lot of people who watch the show have never read any of the comics and would scarcely remember Hana from her 2 appearances in Genesis.... Micah's more part of the universe like....

I still think they should kill off most of them, keep Sylar and Bennett...bugger all the rest!

    Yep, and this episode has
taken care of 2 of those. I.e. Daphne's permanent death and Tracy's fake death. One more to go. Peter or Sylar, I reckon.

im gonna say ando, hiro was and still can be a popular caracter but i think ando holds him back, if he died it would push hiro forward, the again id say it will be danko

Ando's not even on the cards for a death. He won't be killed. Danko most certainly will buy the farm but I doubt that's the death they're talking about, as he's not part of the main ensemble (not that Daphne really was either but she's been in it since S3E1 so...).
