What would be your favourite film genre and whats the film that got you into it?

Mines a tie between Sci-Fi/Action caused by both Terminator 2 & Aliens
and good old horror/cheesy b-movie horror.A massive thank you to the Evil Dead films & Sir Bruce Campbell for them that :D

Probably Sci-Fi caused by the original Star Wars Trilogy.

    Horror by a country mile.
    The cause?
Probably seeing Ghostbusters in the cinema when I was 5 or 6.
First proper horror I saw was A Nightmare on Elm Street aged 10 or 11.
    Good times.

Sci-Fi, by way of Star Wars, though in recent times Battlestar Galactica 2003-2009 literally dumps all over every other sci-fi offering present and past by a long shot. Looking forward to Terminator 4 though.

Also the war genre, because I've always had a historical interest.

Probably westerns, thanks to fond memories of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Sci-Fi generally gets me most excited when I see trailers.
I guess they just offer the most to me in terms of escapism.

Sci fi was and remains my first love, I can't pin point what film it was which made me love the genre but I do have vivid and fond memories of going to see Stargate on a Tuesday with my Dad when I was 9. I also can recall seeing Jurassic Park when it first came out. I also love superhero films which is down to my first memory of seeing Batman a few weeks before my third birthday.

I dont really have a favourite genre but there were films that prompted me to watch more of the genre, such as Star Wars when I was a youngster and um, Vertigo, if you count Hitchcock as a genre! :)

    Sci-fi/fantasy Vs action/horror

being raised on reading fantasy, watching star wars/star trek & battlestar gallactica (what was the cartoon 'by the power of greystones ???' & that also).
And then on the other side I was also raised on McGwvyer (? spelling), is that why I love 24 & all things sci-fi.
And I am absolutely loving modern technology being able to bring fantasy to life LOTR, Pirates of the Carribean, Eragorn etc etc.
