Good news for Eastenders, bad news for Corrie. The nomnations for Best Continuing Drama are Eastenders, Emmerdale, Casualty and the Bill. That's the same line-up as last year, when The Bill won.
Coronation Street haven't won since 2004. They haven't even been nominated since 2006. Red faces there, I'd say.
Great news for soap fans - June Brown (Dot Cotton) is the first soap actress to get a Best Actress Nomination since Jean Alexander was up for Hilda Ogden in 1987.
I think it's brilliant that BAFTA acknowledges the work that's done in soap. It's so easy to be snobbish, and only offer awards to the prestige projects.
