zen media exlorer - mp3 format

well, have problem when ripping from cds using zen media explorer - cd ripper. when i rip from a cd there is no way to change the format from WMA TO MP3 . as when its ripped still have to use converter to convert to mp3. is there a way of changing the settings so that when its ripped from cd , the format is MP3. any help…
