Grant and the recession...

Anyone heard anything about reduction and/or cancellation of higher education grants in the next academic year?

Have heard rumblings about some people being told by councils they're not sure if they'll be giving out grants next year, also know of people getting tuition fee grants from government for their special needs kids who's grants are being cancelled next year also because of recession budgetting...

    Anyone heard anything?

People can speculate all they want but until the outcome is announced on the 7th we can do nothing but sit and hope.

I doubt they'll get rid of the grant, but they probably won't increase it.

What is the current situation on this?? I ask because I was just told that as a second year student I may be liable for fees/no more grant etc next year (3rd and final year). I just want to confirm either way.
