Wow, and I mean wow. I don't know whether this is brave or just stupid.
Gulyaekvich is a really good European champion and is no easy task.
Considering how Eddie fought when he got stopped in Liverpool that night it's amazing to think he'd get an opportunity like this.

But his win over Kevin O'Hara probably made him deserved of a European ranking(just), considering it was for the Irish title.

I would give him absolutely no chance if not for what happened last Saturday.
So instead I'm giving him, very very little chance.

Hopefully he proves me wrong though and my recent record of picking fights for Irish fighters shows what I know :o

McCloskey v Lynes-Lynes(would have gone with McCloskey if not for the short notice in fairness)

    Rogan v Skelton-Skelton

    Dunne v Cordoba-Cordoba

I'm glad he's got this chance and the best of luck to him.

feck me sideways - that is massive and I mean massive step up for Eddie. Good luck to him. Talk about being given an oppertunity to make a name for himself!

I dont really know much about Gulyakevich but there are a few names on his record that we know - he beat an old Leva Kirakosyan to take the title, he lost to AAA by TD on cuts being well behind and he KO'd Tontcho Tontchev who McCloskey recently KO'd.

Again its a massive step up and he only really has O'Hara on his record. I saw him against Stephen Mullin and he looked absolutely shiite! Adam can you tell us what happened in that fight - was he sick or had any problem going into the fight?

I talked to Eddie a while back about this and he told me that he had to drive for over four hours on the day of the fight and wasn't well but still took the fight against Mullin, he didn't have the preparation for the fight and needed to fight as they needed the cash.

He basically quit on his seat from exhaustion.

His fight against O'Hara was a cracker and he fully deserved the win but the only thing I will say about Eddie is that he isn't as active as the other brothers which could go against him.

This is a great coup by Paddy and the lads considering the Napa set back for Paul at the weekend.

I have to say that although Paul Hyland has 11-12 Irish titles and is a very good boxer and Patrick has that great power, I have always loved Eddies style and courage, so lets just hope he has the committment and dedication to give himself the best chance.

Fair play to team-Hyland, this fight I wasn't expecting.

Wow that is a massive step up. It will be interesting to see what else is on the bill and where it will be. National stadium?

I dont Think its going to be in the stadium,
Brian Peters has that booked up for the year to stop compitition, it might be D.C.U again or even the basketball arena, tallaght.
eddie is on the card, maloney are still in talks about getting the french bloke whom beat napa to fight paul hyland on the bill for the european title and from what i can gather, patrick hyland is on it too and there is talks of jamie moore defending his european title and of course darren sutherland is on the bill too, everything will unfold in the next few weeks im sure,
