I just received my Komplete 5 and have been messing around with Reaktor for a few days now. My GOD it's addictive. Anyone here use it?

    Yeah.. I've got it.

Its great for crazy sounds.. You'll definitely get something unique out of it.

I havent even scratched the surface with it though :o

Yep, use it a fair bit - Battery is a stock thing for drums and usually end up in either Massive for basses/techno or Absynth for pads/weirdness.

    Just been using it there.

I love Newscool - But wish I could get it to sound not like Newscool :)

The FX are great in it too.. Excellent program.

Make sure to check out the Reaktor User library on the NI W/site. Lots more ensembles to DL for free.

NJ - Have you made your own synths / got busy with routing etc?

For Reaktor 2.3 i've made some FX - have to say it's an awesome system, but 2.3 doesn't like XP - pity really.

I adapted one the the time stretch modules so i could manually play along the sample and sync'd lots for delays/verbs around the movement... i think last time i used it was on a sample of a peacock call and i could stretch out that 10 second sample to about 5 mins of intense moving weirdness - worked a treat - i'd have to dig very deep to fish it out though (the .ens that is) - i could post the peacock thing during the week if you wanted - it's good fun :)

On a side note i have thousands of cut bird samples that i use for percussion/hits and insect noises also cut... i went through 10s of thousands to and painstakingly cut the best bits out, shaped them and foldered the lot up for weird toppings/percussion for abuse in apps like reaktor and it's kin.

Thats DEEP! Bring a flashlight & a compass stuff :D

Yeah.. If you find it - Go ahead.. I'd love to give it a spin for the buzz. Sounds v.interesting.

I've tried going in & out of it - sorta reverse engineering type stuff.. but really need to spend a bit more time at it.

But for what I do with it, its grand.

Peacock call being twisted up in custom FX made with Reaktor - this is what i'd call one of my more 'controlled' passes... i do have some extreme experiments to see how messed up Reaktor can get - i'm just going through them now to find something fun/weirder.

    HoHoHO!

That sounds really disturbing.. Evil Peacock. They're pretty fkd'up sounding as it is.

Maybe Terry Gilliam might make a film about Evil robotic peacocks one day! Keep it for him! :pac:

    Mental.

I forgot that I had the laptop going through the speakers here in the sitting room. There were a few funny looks darting around the place when that started playing. LOL

That peacock is great NJ. Just looking at when this version I have (v5) came out. 2005! MUST be due for an update soon.

The matrix telephone/timestretch? - no, it's a windchime being reaktored.

Something 'sequenced' in Cool Edit, for making film/chillout.

I just did a count of my 'snippets' and it's 25,455 individually cut unique samples. I think most of the happened when i was stuck in the middle of nowhere for 2-3 years - that number doesn't include the trash ones i'd go through and throw out ;)

Have recordings of local drummers, most old kit and drum machines - which are untreated and not abused, and then animal noises, analogs and just about anything with unusual tones sampled and tweaked/cut for use in sequences - ridiculous amounts of stuff.

One funny lot just stumbled across was a file with 400 odd words cut up from Stephen Hawkings' chair ;)

Yes, i use this stuff - all of it in different projects lol.

im not crazy about it.. but i guess thats cause i find it a little too deep for my tastes. i like quick hands on synths but by all accounts it sounds like an amazing tool if you have the patience to delve deep!
