At many sporting events they will sometimes have a break during the competition for demonstrations. During half-time at American football games the bands march about playing, while cheerleaders show their stuff, and mascots run about in costume doing silly things.

I was at a martial arts tournament awhile back and this bloke in uniform with black belt put a cucumber to death by chopping it with his sword while blind folded. I guess I wasn't supposed to laugh, but I did! How ridiculous! And after chopping it in half, he ends up throwing it in the trash, when I was thinking "salad!"

What demonstrations have you witnessed that made you laugh? Has there been one that really impressed you, or were they mostly silly?

Was at a captains drive-in at a golf club once, was a horrible day in winter and we (about 60 people) all left the bar and walked to the first tee. We all stood and watched as this oul fella tried to hit the ball down the fairway but miss hit it and it rolled about 20 feet off the tee. Of course everyone else clapped but i started laughing.

Do people watch telly infomercials? They often have demos there too. I watched part of one the other day that had this gizmo that they were trying to sell that was for doing press-ups on the floor (called push-ups in the States). It was so lame to spend good money to buy this metal gadget when you could just place your hands, or fingers, or fists on the floor and accomplish the same thing. Of course the lads demonstrating the press-up gadget had chip-n-dale bodies, and the girls looked like they just came from the last Olympics. Buy this gizmo and in a couple weeks you'll look just like them. Ha!;)

I was at an indoor car exhibition there before where they had a number of rare cars, expensive cars, classic cars and a Formula 1 racing car. Along with this, there were stalls all over the place selling car related stuff.

There was this one stall where this guy was demonstrating a range of paints for custom spray paint jobs. He had this microphone that was stuck onto his shoulders, with the speak-piece held directly under his mouth, so that it looked like a harmonica that a guitarist uses so that his hands are free.

He had a Tommy Cooper ("jus'lik'that") English accent and to complete the fiasco, he demonstrated his spray paint by painting a small palm sized piece of sheet metal. He left it dry, then sprayed some lighter fuel on the paint job and set fire to it, and he proceeded to extol the virtues of this paint by telling how durable even under fire it was.

Have you never watched Mail Call on the History Channel?

    R. Lee imparts projectile death against watermelons routinely. Which is a bit of a shame, as I like watermelons. But I have no doubt that machinegunning a squad of cowering watermelons with a WWII german MG is highly satisfying and provides a good visual effect of impact rates.

    NTM

I was standing at the main wooden doors to Trinity College when i heard "Put 'em under Pressure" and assorted Italia '90 songs blasted out of this idiots taxi...wtf do them songs have to do with taxi drivers on protest?

Laughed at them as they passed by, they wanted de-regulation in the first place, so their fault tbh;)

Respect to this dude. The trash is where every cucumber should go, it is the most vile and rechid tasting vegetable known to man, destroys the taste of anything you are eating. Even if you get a sandwich with this horror of a vegetable in it, you can't simply just throw the feckin cucumber out of it because it leaves it's taste behind

I know it's after hours but hey! a bitta learnin is always good.

Did you know that the taste you get from cucumbers is something to do with your genes? yes, apparently there is some vile tasting chemical in cucumbers which only certain people can taste. You are probably one of these people and one of your parents probably is too. Also, cucumber is actually a fruit! so there!

Saw a bunch of people protesting outside a fur shop recently, so I stopped and joined in with the "fur is murder" chanting for about 5 minutes while wearing a full length leather trench-coat. Irony is lost on some people
