What is this on a pole?

Is it obvious to be a camera keeping an eye on a bottle/clothes bank?

There is a another one on the other side of the bank. Its also beside a main road, could it be a speed camera of some sort?

It just looks weird with wires hanging out of it!!:)

it could be a speaker, that has a camera either in the box or elsewhere in the area,
so if people try to steal from the clothes bank of try to leave rubbish or boxes or bottles outside the recycling bins, the people at the other end of the camera and speaker can speak and say that they are being watched and to refrain from what illegal stuff they are doing.

I would have guessed maybe a Stevenson Screen? But the black bit at the front throws that off. To me it's still more of a weather thing than anything else?

I saw one down the end of my road for a while. I wondered the same thing.

I happened to be walking past the day that a guy was taking it down. I asked him what it was.

It's for CCTV monitoring of the bottle bank - there was one on Grange Road in Rathfarnham at the bottle bank near St. Enda's Park.
