Moving apartment

I'm leaving my apartment in 10 days and my flatmate is leaving at the same time. I've cancelled the direct debit for NTL and will be phoning upc tomorrow to let them know I'm leaving.

What I want to know is do I ask them to cancel the ntl service or can I get them to transfer the service into the name of "The Occupier"?

In the previous apartment I was in, the bills always came to "The Occupier" so I'm assuming it's possible?
