was goiing through Dublin airport last week and they took away the blade from my safety razor. Do you guys bring your safety razors through the airport security? Was thinking of getting for travelling

Yes, I brought mine with me to Manchester in January. I did however, take my blade out of the razor. Instead i put them lying vertically in my bag in a side pocket(hoping they wouldn't be seen on the xray maching).
They did stop my bag and asked if I had a - "old razory thingy". I said yes, its hidden in a pair of shoes - took it out and he said yeh grand.
Going away next week too,so will probably try and do the same!

I brought my safety razor with me to portugal in Feb of this year, simply but the blades in my stored luggage and brought the razor in my carry on, no problems on the way out but on the way back security queried it so I took it out and proved it had no blade in it.

Do not attempt to go through security with the blades in carry on, they won't like it as the safety razor blades are not allowed.

Despite policy being well laid out, how it is interpreted by staff depends very much on the person that stops you and enquires.. and I guess your own attitude too, it has to be said.
