Depends on specifics, ie the state they're in, make of model, etc.

Not junk then. What's wrong with them? Might just need a new glow plug and some fresh fuel and batteries and you could be stylin'.

    Give it a go - it's worth a shot.

If the top ofthe engine is white in colour, then it's not corrision.
AFAIK, they are a cast iron type of make and do not "rust" as such.
They can seize, so I would remove the glow plug, squirt a little fuel in the top of the cylinder and leave it to "soak" for a few hours and then try to turn the engine over slowly till it's freed up.
Turn it upside down and turn over the engine to remove the fuel in the cylinder,
Then put in a new glow plug, some WD40 on the carb links. New fuel filter and clean air filter and try to start with fresh fuel in the tank.

worked for me on an old model in my shed for past few years, just trying to get a new starter for it.

    Good luck,
    Robbie
