In all the hype of this fantastic weekend, we had a brilliant start to it, with Calasanctius College Oranmore winning the Connacht Junior Cup for the first time against a gallant Summerhill side. It was a great game from two very competitive sides and made all the sweeter for me personally as my son converted two tries…

In all the hype of this fantastic weekend, we had a brilliant start to it, with Calasanctius College Oranmore winning the Connacht Junior Cup for the first time against a gallant Summerhill side. It was a great game from two very competitive sides and made all the sweeter for me personally as my son converted two tries (one into the wind from a difficult position and the second from his bad side on the 22 about a foot in from the touchline which would have made Ian Keatley/ROG proud) and two penalties.

As a matter of interest, Gerry Flannery helped introduce rugby to the school when he was in Connacht.
