I went on hols to the amalfi coast a few years ago. While there we took a day trip to Naples.Only when we had paid and were on the way by coach, did the guide point out it was at our own risk and that naples was a dangerous place.
He went on about how we could be mugged, killed, etc.I thought is was just a joke to wind up the tourists ,till i got there.
Went to one museum had a nervous lunch and scarpered. All on the coach spent the whole trip watching out for roof dropping muggers, sewer hugging pickpockets and scooter flying camora assassins .

What was the dodgiest place on holidays, that you unintentionally ended up in?.

So that i save on day trips, should i end up nereby.

I know your going to say ........Limerick.

in new york last christmas, like not even 5 mins off broadway, ended up on a really dodgy street with loads of homeless. went into a phonebox to ring my brother and this big big black guy corners me at the phonebox, makes me hang up the phone, tells me he has aids and i had to give him 20 dollars to fuk off.

    not too enjoyable.

How do you unintentionally go on holidays someplace?

if the brousure makes it sound like like a fun/relaxing place, and you get there and your changes of ending up in a fight inceases 10 fold

was still a great holiday though

Nha Trang , Vietnam. seen at least 20 get robbed in a week i was there.... 3 girls on a scooter speeding around the place late at night (4-5 am when bars/clubs closed) 2 would hop off and take everythin they can from drunk westerners! never got me though, i woulda kicked the **** into them, anytime they passed by i was ready for it! one time i actually warned this couple about these thieves and no less than 15 seconds later they got robbed! they prob thought i was in on it , hah!

The key word is place .You are on holidays in paradise(maybe?).You turn the wrong corner or enter the wrong bar and end up in a world of sh!t that the guide/hotel neglected to tell you about.I went to naples because the guide in pompei told us to visit the museum that held all the pompeii pieces.

Probably his brother owed the tour coach.

Went on a tour in Tunisia and we were brought into Algeria and Libya. Once we were between the two the guide told us we had to be vigilant when we got off the coach because the region had an awful reputation for thieving desert bandits.

The obvious question would be "why did you bring us here then?".

Nothing happened though. Just watched camels drinking bottles of coke.

Many, many moons ago on a school trip to then West-Berlin.

Our accomodation was about 15 mins walk from the next U-Bahn station ...along a main road which was the main roadside prostitution area of Berlin.

Picture about 50 bedazzled 16 year old culchies with a sheltered upbringing parading along dozens of whores in all stages of decay and their lovely pimps every evening

Thankfully, other than a few snide remarks from the pimps and the odd "offer" from a car slowly driving by nothing really happened :D
