Must say a big thanks to all who took the time to get it all together and run it off. I'm looking forward to the next fox shoot. If you weren't there you missed out big time.

Great day out and good craic was had by all I think I can say. For an old fart I didn't do to bad. BUT I need a visit to Specsavers in the morning.

Is this the second best thing I can do laying down, top of the list is sleeping;) I was better at something else but it's slipped my mind.

Clive just pinched a bottle of wine, glad to see him get it and I'm sure it better than the cooking sherry he was drinking :D.

Clive Dwight and were noticing to day your unique style when shooting prone, every now and again you would stick your right leg high in the air and wiggle your foot around, is there a reason for this or did you find the thistle francie hid for Joe?

God day out lads thanks very much to all who organised the proceedings.
Even though I wasnt shooting it was great craic.
Very good skills displayed by all......... that bobbing fox sure looked hard at 200 yards.
Look forward to the next one.
PS I did notice some of those twitches you mentioned FS - was there unfair advantage gained from this......an extra leg on his bipod:D

Oh and a request to the management from my old buddy mat "cut down those bushes in front of target 1":P

Even though I wasn't out viewing the Fox Competition, listening to the chat and stories in the Club house afterwords, one could tell you all had a good time.

Best wishes and hope to meet you all again.

    All prone.
First 7 shots @100m at a large Fox, one that I wouldn't want to come across in the night time lamping.
Second 10 shots @200 for grouping and scoring.
Third 3 shots @200 at a bobbing fox - life size on an A4 sheet of paper. This was shown for about 5-10 seconds anywhere along the butts firing line. You had to find the target then aim and fire. not easy but good fun.

Sounds fun. Definitely have to get a go of this next time.

What shooting position was specified? e.g. prone, with or without bipod, with or without sling, bench etc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,106 ✭✭✭clivej

Prone with a Bi-pod or front bag only. Bobbing fox was not easy.

I just remembered I had this shot of the Foxy Lads get together last Sunday.
Not a great shot (pardon the pun) apologies to those that were standing/hiding behind the others.
Next time I'll remember to take more than one:o.
