muppets on the track

Was training in ALSSA the other evening , just doing a session. Next to the track there was a hockey match on between two school teams I think. After the match both teams and gangs of supporters decide to stand on the track to do "hip hip horrays "etc blocking the inside lanes and generally getting in the way with prams etc.
As I was doing reps it was pretty obvious that I and other runners were trying to train there.
What is it with team sports and fans who think they are more important than us , and that they can just block the track. I mean we didn't run around the hockey pitch when the match was on. Is this just pig ignorance. Is it an Irish thing???

Just shout 'track' as hard as you can. If they don't move you go through them . Can't stop during an interval ;).

I'd also make sure that you were wearing your spikes - they remember what 'track' means the next time!

When I train and am doing a session of 400s and 300s say, I often find it's the sprinters who stand in the inside lanes at the 200 mark talking waiting to finish their recovery, or they don't move off the track once their rep is done, that gets to me.

OP, best thing, yell track and give them an elbow if needs be.
