    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

    2CV has a few 2CVs - I'm sure he'll respond to this :)

Great bloody car, had about 6 of them. Went to the Stones in Slane with 6 people - pre safety belt rules.

Best thing is to drive one landyman and then be hooked !

At one time I had a Shelby Mustang and a 2CV in the garage - mad days !

    Right, i have 2 of them :-)))

One is a blue 1988 2CV6, and the other one is a 1976 2CV Van, original irish car.

    Cool.

If it's a late 80s and it's been sitting for a while, the floors are going to be gone. Possibly even the chassis

2CVs were never designed to be waterproof.

Doesn't look too bad, from a distance :-)
It's a portuguese built car, which means it rusts!!!

also back bumper is not off a 2CV, and the wheels should not be colour coded.

Seamus at Europlates should be able to do something about that. Which reminds me, I must finish my red/black rear number plate.

Ha not really looking, just checking out who has one.....

Though arent they supposed to suffer badly from rust?

No more than any other car of that age... However, in 1981 the quality did start to suffer due to the use of cheaper metal and from 1988 onwards it went from bad to worse... the Portuguese ones were the worst. If you get a 70s 2CV, they're pretty much bullet proof though. Proof, my 1976 van is still going strong.

Aye, she's a work in progress. Thanks for the heads up regarding the bumper - I had no idea. I'll sort out these things gradually....owning a few Cits is like a constant plate balancing act.:)
