and suffocate, assuming the seal is good

A rat can survive a fall from the top of a skyscraper. They won't survive been locked in a freezer as they would sufficate. I found rats that sufficated between bales of hay.

    Generally 3 months.
You might get 6 if it's vacuum packed.
I wouldn't eat if after that. Too dodgy.

Not possible, once the blood freezes the expansion in the fluid damages the cells beyond repair and the brain damage makes it impossible to live after freezing.

Some fish have the ability to survive in sub zero temperatures but that is because they have a very strange element in their blood (not too unlike anti-freeze), but scorpions, no...

Sorry, did you say something? I didn't hear you, speak up please...

The bit you are hanging you hat on is the

"Brownell has frozen scorpions in his research, only to place them in the sun the next day and watch them thaw out and walk away"

I notice this Mr Brownell does not state the temperature he kept the scorpions at, now there is an old magician's trick where you catch a common fly (like a bluebottle) and put it in the freezer for about 20 mins, until it's body goes into a state like hyberenation and it appears dead.

Then you put it in your hand and as they warmth of your hand warms up the fly it will all of a sudden "come back to life"

The fact is ice crystals in the blood and in the brain mean death, I need to see more on this Brownell claim before I beleive it...

They build an igloo. Wait for a power cut because the three providers have made a cock up, and when you race in to check on the turkey they scarper

Scorpions hibernate in times of extreme cold, which allows Asian species to live as far north as nearly 50 degrees latitude. "That's under snow a good four months a year," said Fet. "There's no way they are active there in cold weather, but they hibernate, and do this even in Asian deserts where it becomes very cold."

under snow for four months, i'd say its plenty cold.
if the animals have a natural antifreeze in their blood than those badboys blood wont freeze.

While living in Oz they used to tell you to put the cane toads in the freezer to kill them.

    Most humane way they said.

Slidey did so and fcuked them out on the lawn after. I'll be honest, had to help them on their way to the after life with me hurley 2 hours later

if you opened your freezer and saw a rat, he/she knows another way in and is only there to feed.

if you threw or chased a live rat into your freezer he/she will eat it's way out in about 20minutes.

    based on the info supplied

There was a BBC documentary a few years ago that showed some mice that had set up home in a commercial freezer, think tennis court size.

They had snuck in when one of the doors was open, they had adapted and had extra thick fur.

Seeing a mouse's nest inside an animal carcass put me off my dinner that day, hopefully rentokill followed the BBC!

that's true, worked in rentokil, was the case in some places here too

if the animals have a natural antifreeze in their blood than those badboys blood wont freeze.

The article says they burrow under the ground, they go there where it is warmer and they do that to avoid freezing.

Even common gold fish can survive in a pond that has a layer of ice (5 to 10cm) on it and they do so by staying in the bottom of the pond where the water is above freezing.

I have my doubts that a cold blooded animal such as a scorpion can survive being frozen but that article suggests it is possible. I would still like to see more before I admit I am wrong, that's all.
