Friend doing their Theory Test in 2 weeks and want to know is the TT timed? Heard it's 45 minutes but it didn't come out on the TT confirmation letter they received. Cheers

You will be given 45 minutes to answer 40 questions for theory tests in the following categories; Motorcycles and Mopeds (Category AM), Cars and Work vehicles and Land Tractors (Category BW), Heavy Goods Vehicles (Category C) and Buses (Category D). The questions are selected randomly from the question bank for the relevant test sections.

Just to clarify, the 45 mins is the maximum you are allowed but most people will finish in less than that and you can end the test whenever you are ready. The time it takes you to complete is irrelevant to the result - the test is just marked on number of questions correctly answered.

If you do happen to go over the 45 mins I believe the test will finish automatically and whatever questions you have answered at that point will be marked - I have never known anyone who ran out of time though!

    Good luck with it!

As far as I remember there is a clock counting down the time on the screen, so you know exactly how long is left.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

The test as far as I remember is almost identical to the CD rom, Buy the CD and play with it and the real McCoy will be no bother to you!

As a previous poster said the clock counts down on the screen as it does on the CD I doubt that anyone has ever ran out of time you will have half an hour or so to spare if you practice with the CD.
