I've had a shop window broken as a result of a fight spilling out of a pub on St. Patricks day. Who is responable for the payment of fixing the window? Arrested parties involved in fight or failing there cooperation, the bar owner?
Any advise would be appreciated as this is the second time its happened and i had to pay last time:mad:

The person who negligently caused your window to smash.

Don't hold your breath on recovering anything I'm afraid.

Assuming they were drunk on his premises, you could chase the publican. Its not something he'd want brought up in court on licencing day. It would ruin your relationship with him though.

Chasing the fight participants may mean you are chasing "that kind of person".

I would contact station and make complaint in writing about your window...... If they guy is being prosecuted under public order act and you make a statement re your window he will more than prob. be done for criminal damage as well. If he is any way decent i'm sure he will cough up... to look good in court.
