Help! Computer properly messed up

    My pc has gone nuts. Don't really know how but when I restarted last time it took ages, and now no programs load on startup, when I go into msconfig there is only one listing - the rest is empty!

    The only one there is cpltpc.exe. Google finds no listing firvthis at all. It's a21k file in the C:\ directory and I cannot delete it. it's giving me application errors all over the place.

    I can't seem to boot into safe mode cause my wireless keyboard and mouse will not work at login screen, even though they work fine in selecting to load safe mode on dos mode at the beginning.

    Any suggestions?

    1. Can you access files on it? Is there anyway you could copy important stuff to a usb key or something similar?

    2. If you can do the above, I'd do a re-install of whatever OS you're using.
