Police whistles are set to make a come back in the UK after an absence of over 30 years. Beat bobbies have been given them to help tackle anti-social behavior.

Twenty-five whistles have been issued to neighbourhood officers in Falmouth, Cornwall. Sergeant Cara Trott said: 'At the moment they are mainly being used to attract the attention of cyclists who may be committing any offenses.

The Gardai should also be issued with whistles to attract the attention of the influx of offending cyclists when the forthcoming JC Decaux project gets under way. :D
