Seriously lads this is the Gambling Forum - not the GAA Forum.

The above means nothing without odds to go with them.

yeah??...it's very helpful in my opinion. what do you need the odds for?...gambling is about making the right decision..not making a decision influenced by greed..only a bad gambler/greedy no profit making gambler would be interested in the odds..if you dont like the thread, dont read it...and definately dont post your opinion.

It means nothing because he is picking who will win regardless of the odds.

And will then come back on Monday and say something like "I got 14 right out of 24", even though half of them are ridiculously short odds and backing all his picks with level stakes would have you in the poorhouse.

Betting is all about value, it would be much more useful if he posted what he thought were value bets.

The only useful thing I got from his picks this week is that I'm glad he thinks Waterford will win as I have backed them also @ 5/2.
I also think No Goals in Waterford v Leitrim is value with Ladbrokes @ 4/1 with Leitrim's last game and Waterford's last 2 games being goalless.

What do people think of Antrim v London tomorrow?
The 10 point handicap given to London looks huge. They have won the handicap in all of their games so far and having beaten Waterford last week I wouldnt be surprised if they run Antrim close.
    I'm already on London+10 @ 10/11.
I laid Antrim -10 @ 1.95 on Betfair a few days ago (bookies going 10/11) but it still remains unmatched which indicates that the bookies arent taking much on Antrim at all!

    All opinions welcome :)

That is the single most stupid ridiculous idiotic comment I have ever read on a gambling forum! How long have you been betting with and how much do you "win" every week?

If you want me to explain further please say so and I will give examples of my recent GAA bets to you and how I pick my bets based on the odds.

timaaaaaaay...the bookies love people like you....you are definately a gambler, and thats cool...5/2,4/1,3/1 value?....i dont think so...there's a reason for odds like these in any sporting event..its not value. gambling is about making money..not gambling your bankroll on stupid 3/1 shots...if you were a real gambler and by this i mean a profit gambler you would realise 5/2 & 4/1 odds are not value..if you new anything about this game you would know 1/2 even 1/3 on occasion is reasonable value..and if you can get you're money on at even money well take advantage..this is were the real money is made. making money afterall is the hole point of the exercise....not betting on london +10 points...sure you've already placed the bet and you dont even know the team line up,who the ref is or even what the weather is like...thats just playin into the bookies hands. stupid in fact..(how'ever i do hope it wins for you,id rather you get the money than paddy power).

I'd like a quick straw poll of who thinks I'm right and who agrees with nozebleed!

I cant be arsed typing a long reply to explain the concept of value to him.

Strangely though he is not alone in his views of gambling, I have seen many a similar argument on the betfair forum. I suppose you need people like nozebleed to allow others to make a profit.

Regarding the London bet, I placed it a few days ago as I thought that the odds would be cut as I felt that 10 pts was too big. You might like to know that London have won on the handicap betting on all of their games so far.

I also backed Waterford a few days ago at 5/2 and this was cut shortly afterwards. I used to only bet on the day of a match but now I always go looking for early value.

Please tell us what your bets are this weekend nozebleed.
I assume you're not betting on every game?!

I wish you well Nozebleed, but the above are some of the most rediculous
comments ever on gambling. I smell a bookie

If you equally back 10 teams to win, each at 3/1, you're up 20% if 3 win.
Back 10 teams equally at 1/3 and having 6 win and you're still down 20%.

GAA bets of the weekend are tyrone 4/7 and and Mayo 8/11..Both with ladbrokes..And i say this in terms of value..Anybody who does not take value into question when gambling is a mug punter of the highest order..

If your looking for value try a tenner on

Dublin 13/8 to beat Mayo - Dublin will be out to redeem themselves
Galway 5/4 to beat derry - Galway are flying at the moment
Armagh 6/4 to beat kildare - Altough kildare are unbeaten. i think armagh can cause a shock here

    Also
Tipperary at 5/2 to beat roscommon looks decent value. Unbeaten in the league so far and if they win tomoro they will be close enough to promotion.

I wasn't questioning your picks. Not a bad percentage and I'm sure you did ok. I just thought it was funny the way Timaaaaay was one step ahead there!

Just out of interest did you back all these matches on singles with the same stake or do you normally pick a selection?
