Ok, let's see can I organise a few photo walks.

    Firstly, what's a photowalk:
simply, a few people meet somehere and take photos of something. the walk can be short or long, the photos don't need to be any good, and there's coffee or a pint afterwards.

I have a couple of spare cameras, film and digital, and I'm happy to show people that are interested how to use them, so we can add a small element of coaching too.

    Some nice places to go:
Shandon and North Gate bridge area,
    The Lough and UCC,
St. Finbarre's Cathedral and that general area,
Cobh/Fota if people are feeling adventurous.

Obviously if people want to drive then there's a ton of other places.

I'm thinking the evenings after work, so from 5 or 6 on, for a couple of hours
though maybe it's a little early in the year for that yet. Saturday mornings is an option too.

    Anyone have any thoughts?

I'll wait a day or two before proposing a time and location for the first corkboardsphotowalk.

how about this week? weather depending - wednesday or thursday, around 5:30/6pm? Meet somewhere near St Finbarres?

DeRanged...I'd be up for this, I like taking snaps around and I think that time of the day has a really beautiful light.
My only issue: I dunno you and I'd feel a bit shy (a bit=a lot) being coached by you or using your cameras..at least for the first meeting...I'd come with my stupid small digital and just take the snaps that I like better...would you mind?
Sorry for being so honest...ehm...no offence meant, obviously!!!

    of course not! that's fine.

Great! i can bring a roll of film no worries, but what kind/type should i get?
When are where are we meeting tomorrow night?

    It's ok with me ^_^
I just apologize if I'll be the "snapper tourist", ok?
Let me know place and time.

ok - let's say 6pm ish, across fromProby's bistro (next to the cathedral).
We'll have the cathedral and the brewery/river to aim at :)

for the film - standard 35mm black and white or colour - 24 shots will be plenty - you want to run through the entire roll so you can take it away and get it developed.

if it lashes rain tomorrow we can reconsider the plan!

if anyone else is interested please come along - the more the merrier.
it's not going to be serious photography or anything, just a stroll really.

great to see there's more interest, we can run more, the weather will only get better.

for anyone that's wondering, we met up (once I figured out that I was the only one in the wrong place :) ) and spent some time photographing the cathedral, then walked a bit to see the old city walls, the Beamish brewery and finished up on the Grand Parade outside a "dry cleaners" pub.

This one is the first one I took, scroll them to see the all of them...the last one I took yesterday is the river Lee at twilight.
Titles are in italian but descriptions are in english ^_^

My fave, I think, is this one:

Is that story the one where if it falls down then Cork would blow up or something????

think it has fallen down a number of times in the past tho, or fallen over.
