MOD - please leave this thread here as is more to do with rugby than gambling!

Childminding duties have intervened to seriously disrupt my enjoyment of this great rugby weekend so I have consoled myself with a small splurge at Paddy Power.com to add a bit to the proceedings.

Having already backed Ireland to win the Grand Slam I have now bet on Scotland to beat England at 6/1 (I don't want them to and I know they won't but this way I can't lose!); Italy to beat France at 13/2 - and they they just could as they are due a win and have beaten them once before; and I also bet on a draw in the Ireland/Wales match - unlikely but it does happen - and who could resist at 28/1??

What does anybody else think? :D

For such an unlikely set of results the odds seem pretty crap, I would of been thinking more like 100-1!!!

I don't think its a multiplier. If it was it would be ~1092/1

I take it you don't gamble that often then going by what you just posted there.
How can you not lose by backing Scotland? Italy's record against France is appalling and the true odds of a draw in a rugby match is closer to 50-1 than 28-1.

I am not a regular gambler - I am a rugby fanatic who is trapped with his kids at the weekend instead of down the local - if you read my post. I cannot lose by backing Scotland because I want England to win and in the unlikely event of their losing I win money rather than happiness. As for France - where do you start? There coach is a lunatic, their performance this season has been shambolic and Italy continue to improve and are hungry for a win. Having already backed Ireland to win the Grand Slam, the bet on an unlikely draw is the only option available with worthwhile odds. It's called having a bit of fun not deadly serious gambling. Anyway I am only betting my winnings from the England/France match. :D

If ive read this correctly, this a stupid thing to do as you could just lay ireland to guarantee a profit and not be backing very big underdogs.

Also the draw in rugby is very very rare and it is taken as a given that odds of 25-30/1 is not really big enough to justify backing it.

Off topic Scotland +13 is my bet of the weekend.
