    Friday 20th March 09

Salford City Reds v Wigan Warriors KO 20:00
St. Helens v Leeds Rhinos KO 20:00

    Saturday 21st March 09
Catalans Dragons v Bradford Bulls KO 18:00

    Sunday 22nd March 09
Celtic Crusaders v Wakefield Wildcats KO 19:00
Huddersfield Giants v Harlequins RL KO 15:00

Hull, Huddersfield and the rest away wins I reckon. Should be fun tonight, neither Saints nor Leeds playing at full tilt yet this year.

Complete and utter bull**** refereeing in the second half. The elbow not even put on report, penalty for Leeds for, I'm assuming, a grapple tackle. Leeds go flying in and no punishment.
Then in the lead up to the try the most obvious grapple tackle you could ever wish to see from Leeds goes unpunished. Total BS.

*EDIT* I'll admit I was wrong, it was a shoulder, not an elbow.

I don't think Leeds wee outclassed. For whatever reason they didn't look up for it. They looked lethargic and lazy in defence. Whilst you may think the refeering was bad for Saints as a Leeds fan I though the he had red vee tinted glasses on and allowed Saints to slow the ball down way too much. Leeds thrive on quick ptb and once hat was robbed looked void of ideas.

You're saying that as a Leeds fan, as a neutral I'll say it looked to me that it looked like both teams were very slow getting up after completing a tackle. There was the one dodgy decision against Jones-Buchanan for a flop, but there was a similar one given against Saints.
Maybe it's just from watching NRL yesterday morning I was expecting quicker PTBs.

Are you having a laugh? The WC showed that the southern hemisphere refs allow more slowing down of the ptb than the Northern hemispere refs which was one of the complaints.

And yes, I am a biased Leeds fan :D

With the two referees it seems to have sped up an awful lot though.
The commentators on Sky last night were praising the ref for not awarding more penalties. I say give more penalties and eventually there'll be less interference and the penalty count will come back down. :)

Totally agree, the carry on at the play the ball in NRl is a joke, and its one of the main reasons we tend to do so badly in international competition...

It was a decent match, hard for you to watch perhaps :P

If you hear anything about tonight's cancellation will ya give this thread a shout? The language in the RFL's statement and Crusaders' involvement don't fill me with hope.

I tend to agree, it sounds more than a little ominous and when placed in context of recent resignations at the Crusaders..I hope the RFL's decision to go with the Crusaders over Widnes is not about to be proved wrong...

Something serious definitely afoot...rlfans.com has just slapped an injunction on any threads discussing the issue until the official announcement from the rfl.

The rfl site is currently down, nothing on the crusaders site and I cant access the Wakey site either...worrying times

RLFans.com isn't accessible for me right now, and I noticed the RFL's site was down earlier and SuperLeague.co.uk is VERY slow to load. Maybe it's just a coincidence and they're having problems with their hosting? :P

I've heard from a Wakey friend..not confirmed by the RFL, but a very, very serious injury took place in the reserves game....I don't want to comment or speculate, but it appears that the medical team for the Crusaders were involved and had to take a critically injured player to receive attention...there was therefore no cover available for the first team clash...

Hmmm, hope he's OK. I've mixed feelings about that because I don't know how the lad is now. The fact the RFL are putting it off still doesn't feel good.

Do people not realise that putting off announcements is the worst thing they can do?! :P

Just caught the Super League Show on BBC, Bulls got fairly lucky with the decisions, awful kick with a minute left from the Dragons to handover possession.
