    Heres the deal guys

I've been involved in three county championships since I've u.12 when the commence. I've been playing GAA since as long as I can remember and favouritism has always taken place favouring the county teams over the city teams.

We lost an u.12 county final, lost the semi final u.14 and won the u.16 county final, this is all in football, btw.

Also, since u.12 in every county championship we have made it to the semis everytime but no further.

We have no player on the county team in either code when we really should have 7 or 8 playing on the county hurling and football team!

While i acknowlegde the fact that city GAA is of a lesser extent my club are still doing their part with nothing to show for.
If this county wants a serious shot at things for the future they would want to pull their heads out of their arses and start looking at the players and teams consistantly performing!

Thats my rant for the day.

Thats not only the case in Limerick. but the reverse of happens in Dublin. Looking at Kilmacud winning the club title springs to mind. When they won it in 95 they had 4 or 5 lads who should have been playing for Dublin but they were seen in different light by some people.

I feel Fingal clubs (North County Dublin) are generally overlooked by Dublin managment teams from minor to senior. Unless you have been part of development squads you dont get a fair shot.

In Clare it's pretty much anyone who actually shows up and is willing to play..

    Care to explain how???

Because you were beaten by better teams every time.

See above. You sound like you don't take losing too well, as if you feel that your team is somehow entitled to win games?

Okay, now you're just having a laugh??? Name these 7/8 players please (50% of the team??? From one of the least successful divisions???)

Are you only talking about underage county teams? Because having 7/8 players on our county senior teams at the moment would severely weaken our county teams.

The football stronghold in Limerick is the west and the hurling stronghold is the south, and consequently these divisions traditionally have the most players on the respective teams.

While my knowledge of the football scene isn't great, lets look at the hurling team.

At the moment, there are only two players from city clubs that could be considered automatic starters; Brian Murray and Brian Geary. And Murray is only the best of a bad bunch (no comparison to Joe or Tommy Quaid).

Name the other 5 or 6 city players you feel we could rely on???

Could you please give examples of what exactly you are talking about??

The op seems to be talking about bias aginst city players. Nothing unusual in that it goes on everywhere. He obviously feels his club get a bad deal and that is an opinion he is entitled to give.

Sometimes it can work against a player if they are not from what is perceved to be a stronghold of Hurling or Football. He may have exagerated the number but I get his drift, as I said it happens everywhere
