be nice and tell people what the fix was

was it a userinit.exe problem caused by malware ?

im not sure what caused it.

either way i entered recovery mode from the XP boot disk

Copied Userinit.exe from the backup back into system32 folder.

i didnt have to edit the Registry so i suppose it might have just been deleted , not entirely sure why , may have been malware/virus also.

it happened very easily but extremely annoying and tricky to figure out and fix

prob didnt explain the fix too well as i was trying a lot of things at once.

i cant remeber the exact folder the backup of the userinit.exe file was in google through up a few options.

It then required a think back to the old dos commands for copying files from one directory to another.

Hooking the hardisk up as a slave on another PC might also have worked , that way i could have just searched and dragged and dropped.

After that just rebooted and Robert was my fathers brother.

The poxy part of it all was figuring out what the hell was going on.

I had ran an antivirus from a boot disk for about 3 hours and it was still only 20% complete thank god i didnt let it run all the way. as it wasnt the problem in the end.
