    Hi there,

I am going very quickly and all of a sudden very thin on top at an alarming rate....:eek::eek:

I heard someone once mention that a good Protein shampoo would help. Is this just aload of bull or would it be of any help?

If anyone can shed any light on this and maybe recommend a shampo I really love to know.

Also if anyone has any other suggestions that might help Id love to hear them.

    Thanks in advance.

    Stressed

Hair cannot absorb protein. You hear all these useless unscientific words in health and beauty products e.g. penta-peptides and amino glycan). Hair cannot absorb protein.

The only option to reverse hair loss it to talk to a doctor who can recommend drugs.

Any sudden change like that isn't good, maybe see your GP, could be something missing in your diet, hormones, genetics, any number of things, they should be able to help with something proven and tailored to your exact problem. In the meantime, don't stress, don't wear hats or tie your hair back tightly. Hair is nourished from the inside out, by the time it's on your scalp it's just dead tissue, eating protein will help it, but only over long-term, applying protein shampoo will just make what's there shiny, but not any significantly healthier.
