hey lads. I know the situation with motor trade is not very good at the moment. But i would like to hear your opinion.

I have car atm, but i would like to change it, but not for brand new. But would dealers interest in that?

Like i have clk200 00" (top spec). And i would like an audi A6 01"ish. ( got a few things on mine mind aswell)

I wouldnt even know the real value of mine car, but cars i am looking are around 5-6k eu.

What do you think lads? Will anyone look at me seriously? Or they would agree on trade in if i would go for more expencive car?

if you're not in any mad rush i'd suggest selling your own privately but at a very low price to shift it-it will shift at the moment but it has to be priced accordingly. I'd say going into anyone selling an 01 A6 with cash right now they'd bite your hand off. I reckon as both cars could be so closely matched in value you'd get screwed on a cost to change

Just out of curiousity OP, what kinda budget do you have for the A6? I know a fella who got a 04 1.9Tdi 130 with full leather in from the north for aroudn €8.5k. I still think that's alot of car for the money.

Well i got lets say mine car+4k eu. But i dont know if i am so interested in A4, even if its better year.

But what do you think will dealers would go for some deal like mine car+2k eu. or they whant more cash then car value?

Depends on the car and what they took it in at to be honest. A4 is more reliable than the A6, well worth a look

hmmm cheers lads, i sow a few garadges doing a qoute on your own car by email, i could try mailing a few garadges, dealers if i find some interesting cars...

Would i be right: dealers would like to shift theyrs high performance big liter cars, then some small yokes?

So... If i would go for some saab 95 ( 2.0 turbo) they would even consider mine offer...

p.s. Clk200 is really cheap and easy to insure... i got it insured for me and mine misses as named driver for 1.1k eu. And i am only 22 with 1 ncb.

if your own car is not giving you any bother and you're in no rush put it up on carzone at a rock bottom price so that it will sell, take good pictures (kearys in cork are a good set to match) and go in with cash. You should make a killing buying a big engine A6...and get a couple of years newer too. Or go to the UK!
