Wats the typical variance you'd go through in the space of a week or is this totally circumstantial? I'm just wondering this cause I've been up and down 6 or 7 buy-ins about 3 times since last week and I've only gottin serious about poker since Feb. setting up a bankroll and playing alot of hands and am just wondering if this is expected. If it makes any difference I play TAG 21/17 at 10NL.

Thanks for the feedback guys :D

It depends on how many hands you play a week, although 6/7 buyins is nothing anyways

About 3.5k a week. Yeah wasn't sure if it was alot or not. So its pretty standard then or even more is expected?

EDIT: I'm off this week so have been playing aot more about 1000 a day

You'll experience way bigger swings than that, though maybe not at 10nl

why do you use the likes of a day or a week as a time frame. number of hands in the only factor.

you can be a winning poker player but lose over a sample of 50k hands easily. My worst run lasted for 60k hands and ended when I was roughly 30 buyins below EV

Luxury! I stopped counting at 50bi below EV and 100k breakeven and deleted a load of hands from HM so I couldn't obsess over it anymore.

Is it just me or is this not the most ridiculously funny thread title ever?

Isn't the point of variance that it is not typical.
