After the camp was attacked by flaming arrows, everyone was split up running for their lives.
In this scene, it is unclear who made it into cover, and who did not!
I cannot help wondering what happened to Rose and Bernard in all the chaos.
Did they make it to safety?
If they did, where/when are they now?

Personally i feel as though their plotline is one of the more fairytale happy stories in lost, and as such warm characters, if they are now dead, it seems to me as such a waste of good characters.
The producers could have done something much more dramatic with their lives/deaths.
I realise that it would just be a filler for the show, but i would really enjoy some closure on this issue.

    Has anyone heard anything?

Compared to most shows, Lost has a huge main cast. Rose and Bernard just happened to be extras that fans took to (as evidenced by their having a flashback), but they were never fleshed out for main cast.

I think there are three possibilities for them
    1) They are dead - unlikely in my book, because too much time was invested in them to kill them off of screen
    2) They are working with Dharma in 1977 - possible, but no evidence and this would have been the week to show them.
    3) They are in some other timeline, perhaps when Sun and Ben are. Then we would need an explanation as to why they didn't shift with Sawyer and co. The only reason I can think of is that they weren't close to the donkey wheel when Locke turned it and weren't subject to the same effect as Sawyer and co.

I'd say there with the hostiles! Can't see them working with Dharma now since
There not there in the latest episode

I think someone should put a spoiler on the thread title because the latest episode factored into the discussion

One other character is unaccounted for - Vincent. I imagine he was with the same group as Bernard and Rose.

I thought of three other possibilities for them:
    1) Sawyer found them and they opted to go back to Fiji on the sub - not sure that Rose would want to leave without knowing what happened to Jack etc but this would write them out and could be mentioned in one line in future ep.
    2) They are with Richard Alpert's group of Hostiles.
    3) They died at the caves (in the 1954 timeline?) and are currently decomposing towards a reappearance as Season 1 guest stars Adam and Eve. I think if this had happened, we would have been shown their death.

Depends on when the actors are available too, I guess.

    Podcast spoiler:
The writers confirmed they are not dead. Nor is Vincent for the matter. (He is the only character guaranteed to be alive until the end!

I think it's a matter of convenience for the story. They couldn't use all the redshirts and Rose and Bernard during this part of the story. There would be too many people and the actors may not have been able to commit to every episode so the flaming arrow attack was an easy way to separate them.

As for how their absence will be explained. I am really not sure but they'll come up with something. They are well aware that people would be asking this question so I am sure they have a plan for them.

Aren't Sun and Frank in present time?

They may have found their way to the hostiles. It was the Losties that were time hopping and not the island itself, right?

Going by the most recent episode, I thought Sun and Frank (and the other people from the newest plane crash) are in some future time, judging by the fact that the houses are all abandoned, and in a somewhat run down state.

As for the rest of the original Losties, I thought they were all killed, or else with Richard's group, and they should also be in the 70s with Sawyer et al.

Sun & Frank are in 2007. After the intro with the second plane crash, an inter-title states '30 years earlier' and then we flash back to what we know is 2007. ergo Sun & Frank in 2007.
