    thinking of buying a television in uk which has built in freeview. will this eliminate the need for a set top box when i hook it up to a satellite dish? (like the ones u get in lidl/aldi)

    "Freeview" = Digital terrestrial TV service - not satellite:)

    "Freeview" = UK standard - not Irish MPEG4 - check before buying :eek:

    one more question:

    its a waterproof tv i'm buying for the bathroom (currently building house)....

    using one of the dishes that provide free sat:
    i dont think i can have a set top box in bathroom.....
    so is it possible to work this tv off box in bedroom next door, and does this mean i have to watch same channel in bathroom as in bedroom......

    or is it possible to have box in attic above bathroom? (not sure how this would work)

    yes you can use it from the bedroom,

    or you could have 2 boxes if you want.

    one for the bathroom and one for the bedroom. both located in the bedroom

    (a bit overkill in my opinion ) but then so is a tv in the toilet:D

    how is the tv wired?

    thanks very much.... its a bitt ott alright...but a long story
    its not wired yet, should be ready to do so in a week or 2....
    dont mind having the same channels on in both rooms really...was just tryin to find best/easiest way

    Each to his own, but electrical equipment in the bathroom is an obvious source of risk, so I would suggest it is a job for a specialist, who should be able to advise on the connection of set-top boxes etc. Be safe :)

    My other half wanted a watrproof tv too for stewing in the jacuzzi, she asked one day in DID electric and the salesman looked at her as if she'd ten heads he never heard of one.

    Where did you source the bathroom tv please?:confused:

    u can get them in nationwide tiles but very expensive..... 2000e for a small one......rip off

    ebay have a lot of them.....

    u can get them in england for about 700-800£..... probably get them up north as well.....
