New jazz trio?

    hi, im a drummer based in cork and really want to set up a jazz trio. Im a drummer with 9years of jazz,blues,funk,samba and soul experience....and i really want to set up a band....giging, i dont just want to jam...
    the instruments id have in in mind would be a sax and a jazz bass(ie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4Hx0VfUbTw....that bass!.....would like to find people that could get gigs!...influences....coltrane, herbie hancock,miles davis

    Your influences list is impressive and is one-to-one mine, too. I wish I played double bass to join you, but alas I'm into a different kind of business and can't play any instruments except in my head :) ... and sometimes in Cubase, too. Promised to myself to start learning double bass some day. Dreams, dreams :)

    ya, but then again, just because they are influences, does'nt mean i'm like them!....dreams dreams :)
    i would love to play the bass, but i dont want to spend the time to learn another instrument!....play music in your head?....producer?
