Heard about the €2,000 interest free travel loan BOI are giving.
At the moment im with AIB and have a student loan and overdraft with them, so do u reckon if i go into BOI and open an account i would get this loan off them? i dont mind if i need a guarentor as my mother will sign for this.
basically my plan is to get the loan and simply pay off my AIB one which im paying interest on.
i have proof that im travelling to the states in the summer so i could just say i need it for that??

Well... I'm not massively comfortable this thread because I don't think we should be encouraging anyone to effective lie on loan application forms!

To pay off one loan with another can be risky, all I will say is to make sure you read the small print very carefully on the BOI loan.

I don't think you'll have an issue particularly if you change banks completely, but having your mother as guarantor will seal the deal mereckons. Nor would I worry about lying on your application form, as principles are wonderful when you can afford them but seen at present your finances don't allow you such a luxury I thinnk you should just do it. The best time to apply would be hte first of the month as credit-ratings are only checked once per month.

    Good Luck!
