MacOS 10.3 Panther Retail in WHITE?

Chanced upon a iMac G3 (Indigo) in pristine condition with black Apple pro keyboard/mouse and ....*wait*... a iSub (or iSub2000). Surprisingly, the 350MHz PowerPC was enough to play back MP3 files smoothly - and does that iSub go BOOM!

Question: with this was a set of 10.3 installation CDs, was told it is retail. Now this printed side of these CDs is WHITE. I only come across such discs in black. Can anyone shed some light? Pirate copies?

Probably. My Panther discs are black. Jaguar ones are white though.

Indigo iMacs would have come with Mac OS 9. So it's possible he never bought OS X and just downloaded it. It should be pretty obvious from the discs.

Where did you get it? Ebay?

Yeah my old panther discs are black too.
I wouldn't worry about the discs not being legit. I am tempted to get an iMac G3 too, for internet and music, tey are incredibly cheap on ebay now x.gif

Got these off from a private seller on an ad site. eBayers will have thrashed the box and sold the iSub separately.

No, the discs looked to be of stamped, production quality - no tinting whatsoever. And definitely 10.3. I am puzzled too - I've owned Pather through Leopard retail sets.

These hundred-MHz iMacs are actually powerful enough for music and simple surfing - too much Flash and they go AWOL. Must try and stock up PC100/PC133 512MB RAM DIMMs, smell a niche market on the grow :D .
