Would anyone know what are they like to work for now? During the recession.

They were always a good company to work for, but i don't want to be taken on and be laid off in 6 months time.
Im job hunting to get out of the place im in now. I dont know where else to try, so im just handing out my cv for the fun of it to see if i get anything.

    Thanks

If you have a permanent position at the moment and you are not at risk of losing it, I'd stay put. Unless of course there are other circumstances in your current position.

I know a few people working in BS, and some of the night shifts have been reduced, staff have been moved onto day shifts, it's suits some but not others.

I am in a permanent position but i hate it. If i stay any longer i will go mad. I want to get out for my mental well being.

A good mate of mine has been working up there years and tells me that they do take on staff and do let some go after their probabtion period is up...he said it keeps costs down as they dont hire as regurlarly as they did before.

I know its hard to stay in a job you hate...god knows ive walked out of a few myself after only a few days. But would/could not do it now due to family reasons but if you think you can surive on the dole for a few months...then walk away. What do you work at as a matter of fact? Could depend on how easy/hard it would be for you to get another job

They are hiring people at the moment (not Product Builders) but like a previous poster suggested if you have a job it might be best to stay with it. There would be nothing worse than to get a job in Boston and they decide to let people go. It could be a case of LIFO.

Its like Label Design. If you export product to differnt countries you have to ensure that it is labeled/marked up to meet that countries standards. Barcoding and Graphic Design would be involved. I believe its a well paid job.

:pac: - Thought pretty much the same myself until while I was in college, I worked during the Summer on a packaging project - Essentially an audit of a very large company's packaging process and standards. I was basically doing data entry. Tedious stuff. But was amazed to see the detail/standards involved. The team Leads were highly trained and intelligent - the likes of which I haven't seen since. They knew their boxes

worked in boston sci myself ther last yr n was only ther 3 months when i got laid off. ( i had worked ther before for a yr n half but went back to uni)

but stay n a job if ur perm, ther's a large liklihood that u will get laid off from boston sci as their business needs can change dramatically in a wk, nevermind a few months..

    good luck tho :)

If you believe the job-sites, there is a massive shortage of engineers in Galway and virtually no vacancies for anything else.

I'm assuming that all the medical device companies recruit for their lines by word-of-mouth and friend-of-a-worker approaches.

Hope you didn't get laid off for leaving out the odd vowel and consonant.

Most ads like that are run year round whether they're needed or not, most often not.
