Would you buy/suggest either?

Hey all,

I'm looking to get a laptop. Don't want to spend a fortune and came across these two that look pretty good to me. Only problem is where I'm buying them from.


First is a refurbished ('good as new') from laptops direct:

which works out at about €400 shipped.



The other is similar, and works out at around €450 shipped, but hails from eBay:

I want a laptop more for the sake of having one. It's not something I'll use non-stop or anything. Most likely just for watching a film when im out and about or playing MAME (of course when i first buy it i'll love it until the novelty wears off). Would anyone here, in my position, who has a better knowledge of laptops, go with either of these themselves?


Both are second hand, and whilst i've personally never had a bad eBay transaction, i can't help but worry it might die after a week and i'll never hear from the seller again (although he does have good feedback). Laptops direct is a refurbished and comes with a one year warranty with them, but from what i hear about them, it's not worth a whole lot (although you rarely ever hear good things about stores).


Just a little lost and looking for some advice, if anyone can help me out.

dont buy a second hand laptop. Too much can go wrong. Get something new from laptops direct or komplett that is cheap and cheerful. At least if it does break down you can get another one.
