This thread is for platoon & section level command structure organisation only. Please keep noise to a minimum. Once a structure has been agreed, I will request this thread be locked and I will move all the the finalised data into the main Berget 7 info thread.

Wormbyte has nominated our platoon commander (Al - our section commander for those who were there last year), and he's asked me to make a post here for people to PM details to be forwarded onto him, along with nominations/volunteering for section command positions. The number of positions will obviously only be fully determined once accurate numbers of bodies attending are to hand.

    So, here's the post reposted from the BE forums;

    Hi all

I have just accepted a promotion for irish platoon leader from Ian and we need to get a platoon roster setup ASAP

we need to sortout section leaders and who wants to be in which section.
    if everyone could send me details {PM} of who you want to be kept with in your section and what role you choose to play{ie-sniper, medic,etc}
please include the obvious with your mob. tel. no. , ticket ID no. , email and any other questions

looking foward to chatting with you all before the event and hopefully we will be able to organise a training day somewhere in order for us to get to know each other a little better before the event

    ...snip...

    regards

    Alan

So, would I'm asking is for people to PM me the details as listed and then perhaps for people to say here whether or not they want to volunteer for a command position if available, or nominations to such.

And first off, I have at least 21 names (myself included) that are confirmed as attending the event.

Also, I wont be volunteering for a command position simply because I'm in a section FSG role, I'm not really going to be in a good position for leading.

So we are agreed then, Lemmings commander.

Obviously I'd like to be rocking with the rest of the irish crew, as I'm sure everyone else is the same.

Ian is a top bloke, and I'm sure we will be in safe hands. I'm sure some of us will be having a chat with him come PR3 anyway.

Has there been any progress on this structure?

(Just saw a picture of the nato commander, he looks like he eats babies for breakfeast)

    Really? You think? :)

Seriously, though, Ian will be up to his eyeballs as PR3 is his show. We may not get much time with him, if we do it should be with a purpose. It may be that the only time we get to meet with him will be on the Sunday afternoon.

I think it's natural that we all have our heads in Sennybridge at the moment. If it's ok with Kris, we should work on the B7 organisation when we get back. We'll also have a better idea of who works better in different jobs.

I'm gifted with multitasking, and I think my head will get into the PR3 game on the saturday morning to be fair :)

The later it takes for me to get the company structures back, the later everybody gets into the NATO specific forum.

Guys, can we keep the noise to a minimum. If you want to mess about, that's what the main Berget7 thread is for. We really need people to get sending info and/or volunteering for various positions. I've had 4/5 PMs from people thus far which is pitiful.

The later this gets sorted, as Kjsaw has mentioned, the later we as an entity (NATO) all get sorted.

Lemming, what I really need for you to do is get back to Ian who your squad leaders are, and a first run at who is in what squad. It is fine for you to change this later. If you are lacking a squad leader, take a best guess at who might fit and you can work it out between now and then.

I will sign up for a squad leader role. If nothing else, at least my squad won't get lost.

I'd put myself foward but I'm not familiar with the terrain, but if no one else does I'll put myself foward

You will have to take that up with Ian.

Ok, now that PR3 is out of the way, we need to seriously get platoon structure together so that Ian knows numbers and what skill-sets and roles are filled in eaceh section and per platoon.

He can then have an easier time of it with NATO command. He already asked me for a rough idea of numbers at the weekend, so come on folks, get a move on.

I've already got pm's from some people and thanks to those who have already volunteered the info requested by our platoon commander. Some people have also posted here saying they'll volunteer for x, or y, but I need this in a PM to send on so that I know who has given exactly what information at a glance.

At minimum we need a platoon commander, radio operator, and section leaders. One medic per section at least is recommended although structure outside of command/comms is entirely down to the platoon and section but will be noted by higher authorities.

The NATO section is open on the BE events forum as well, so get yourselves sorted with access.

And as it's not immediately obvious how to gain access to the NATO sub-forum:

1 - If you're not already a member of the Berget forums, sign up for an account there.

    2 - Go here: http://www.berget-events.com/forum/groupcp.php
You must be logged in for the link to work.

3 - Select NATO from the drop-down list and hit the button. On the next page, hit the button to request access to that usergroup.

4 - PM kjsaw ( on the berget forums, not here on Boards ) and send him your berget TICKET ID. Your ticket ID is the unique number you were given when you booked your place. Everyone should have been sent one via email when they first booked.

5 - Wait. kjsaw will grant you access in due course.

I had thought it was reasonably obvious how to do it (for existing BE forum members at least, but perhaps not for those new there). The important thing is, if you skip any of these steps you will not get access; The extra work for me to give access to those who skip steps adds up to quickly if I have to multiply it by the number of people who might want access.

Man... You forget to send one ticket ID in a pm and you're labelled for life!!:p

I'll send that pm off later, waiting on ticket info from Masada
