Samsung T2600HD TV/Monitor Question

OK. Apologies if this is the wrong area to post this (but it is close to the subject - and only a quick dumb question!)

I was looking to get a new TV for the bedroom as the one we have is on its way out and I spotted this Samsung 26" TV/Monitor. However the specs are most confusing (and I shouldn't be confused as I work in IT) but its says its a HDTV/Monitor, however all reviews and specs only talk about it being a monitor mainly and then saying its got freeview (which is useless in Ireland) and some specs/reviews mention that with the plethora of connections you can switch from using it as a "Monitor at your desk" to a TV with the help of the freeview!

What I can't seem to figure out is, is it actually a TV? Can I ignore the freeview and monitor part and simply plug in my NTL and watch TV on it? It seems stupidly vague for some reason as to if you can just use it as a TV, its always references as a monitor that has freeview? What if I wanted to put in in a caravan and plug in an external antenna? Does it actually contain a TV Tuner in it?

I really want a nice 26" TV for the bedroom and this fits the bill as its full 1080p so its future proof, but I'm not biting the bullet until I know for sure if I can simply swap my dyin 15" Goodman for this sparlky new 1080p 26" Samsung :)

Any help in un-confusing me please is much appreciated!

    Thanks,
    DG.

You will see very few full HD 26in TVs as generally the screen is too small for 1080p and you probably would not see any difference anyway in comparison to 1080i/720p. This is basically a small TV that they are marketing towards gamers and people purchasing high end monitors for their computer. That is probably why this is 1080p - because of the monitor capability rather than the TV.

That would make sense I spose. 1080 is pretty much useless under 32". But its only in the bedroom, so nice looking 26" TV is really all I want.

    Thanks.
