I messed up with the OEM alarm, was trying to disable it cause it was going crazy (pretty common on old timers) and draining my battery off, I think I cut too much cables off:eek:
Now the car does not start anymore.
    That's a e36
Need someone to come over and work on spot in D15 area.

    Cheers

Could you not rejoin the wires back up with pvc tape and see which one gets it starting again??

    First thing Id try.

Believe me I tried problem is that there is multiple cables going to the alarm module and also to the cables that goes to car itself. It really is messed up, BMW specialists do know BMW is a biatch when it comes to electrics. And it is only a e36...
If it was as simple as pluging back I would be ok, because I took high res pictures before cutting the whole thing, so worse case I can do it myself.

But the alarm module is most likely faulty, so even if I do this, I will drain my battery again and my neighbours will want having me killed or something.

So basically, in a nutshell, I want to disable completely the alarm, not fix it.
And get the car starting again.

From memory there's an input to the EWS system from the alarm, which will enable/disable the immobiliser....

Let me go check some wiring diagrams... ;)

If you could get it going yourself you`d save yourself a few quid on being able to bring it somewhere rather than have an expensive "on the spot charge" from someone.

am - i know its no good to you now but why didn't you just lock the doors with the key ! the alarm wont be activated! or just disconnect the siren.

I did disarmed the alarm, there is a key actually to use for that.
But then the car does not start and it was drowing the battery anyway.
Car has been sitting for 18 months now. Want her back on the road.

What year is it? What engine?

Just checking up a few diagrams the anti-theft system changed quite a few times over the years. Is there anything written on the anti-theft system like "alpine"?

It is a 93 316i with M43 engine, OEM alarm, no brand written on it, just BMW logo and some part reference as far as I remember. Don't have it handy with me here...

The problem with these is there was so many different options for security systems, which changed over the years too...

A 1993 wouldn't have the EWSII immobiliser fitted to it...

Does the engine turn over at all?

Is the alarm unit behind the glove box? or under the bonnet?
