I made these to get good quality di guide gtr tracks but they came out so well that I am using them a lot.
There are 2 files in here. Orange 4x12 cab miced with 57. One is API and the other is Phoenix DRS1. Ideal for left and right for double tracked guitars.
    To use these:
Di your guitar into your DAW.
Select your favourite amp modeling plugin. (I use Line6 Pod Farm)
Make sure the speaker cab section is switched off (or no cab).
The guitar will now sound like fizzy sh1te.
Insert your IR reverb (I use space designer in Logic)
Load up the API or DRS wav. With logic you just drag the wav onto SD's window.
Make sure the dry signal is off. Turn up wet signal to good level.
Your guitar should now sound like are playing into an Orange 4x12 miced using an API.

This was my fist time making an impulse and it was very easy and the results have amazed me. This really is super technology. The results are FAR better than using the speaker sims in amp plugins.
Let me know how you get on.
    Michael

    Downloaded these,
Couldn't get em working in Sir 1 though, doesn't support Aiff impulses it seems to only work with .Wav impulses.

Its a super useful technique- I use impulses all over my stuff, amp cab sims and verbs. While I know that impulses aren't as good sounding for guitars as real amps are they get you pretty damn close, when working in my bedroom they're a god send- I can't crank stuff and even if I could the acoustics in my little box room are probably the worst I've ever heard in any house and anything I ever record in here with a mic is riddled with terrible reflections and frankly unnatural high frequency ringing around.

    Cheers anyways!

Cool, gave em a spin there with the .wav ones.
They're really nice! Less buzzy than alot of the guitarhack ones and very realistic sounding. Nice midrange on them too

Cheers! I think I'll end up using these alot, they seem to sit very well with the wagner preamp sim

I fed pink noise into the amp to get the mic positioning just right. The api and drs pres are both top class on guitar.
I took a line into the fx return of my Peavey 6505 and cranked it to make the impulses to get the character of the mic pres involved. The midrange comes from driving the preamps.
I am going to make a few more next week using Mesa TR head, Marshall DSL head and HK Triamp head, Marshall 4x12, ENGL 4x12, audix i5 and Senheisser e906.
I will post them when they are done.

Tried these out this morning. They are a lot more middy than what im used to but they sit in a mix fantastically well! I can definitly see these becoming my go to impulses.
