    Google Chrome Beta (2.0)

    Anyone else trying it?

I find it really quick, compared to the original Chrome and Firefox. Looks like it's heading in the right direction, even with such an early build.

    Some more info here.

    What's new in it?

I do like Chrome but I'm not prepared to make the switch until they introduce extensions.

I'm sure that's on the cards but because of the relativly low % of linux etc users its probably not a high priority. Get it working and fully featured, and increase adoption - then go the linux route...

Google are most probably working on their own linux based OS anyway...

I've been using the dev channel releases. It really does keep getting better and better.

For linux users (or ubuntu/debian at least):

My computers old and low spec, I can't afford a new one atm so I'm stuck with it. Firefox was becoming very annoying. The longer I had FF open, the slower it got and the more it froze.

This google chrome has been brilliant so far. Extremely fast and no problems yet.

I don't like the way a link opens in a new tab though. I tend to use tabs for related links (like opening lots of threads in a forum). You can use the shift button as you click to open in a new window but it'll take a while for me to get used to that.

One problem I've come across though is that when I open threads in tabs I click on the button to go to 1st unread post. It always brings me to a different post, usually it just ends up down the end of the page. Anyone know what the problem could be there?
