    My friend said you can't and i'm too lazy to go find out :o

    Not officially. Some bars (or a lot) however will prob sell you drink on the quiet to take away.

    Of course you can. There are noly two days of the year that you cannot. This is far from a day on which you cannot buy drink.

    There are some towns that have been told by their local Gardi to close their off-licences on the day or after certain hours.
    Ours is one such example. I think they are trying to see will it cut down on the youth drinking on this particular day compared to last year (where there was serious trouble).

    There was a sing in the windows of Dunnes on Georges street say the offo' is open from 15:00 till 22:00 iirc.

    It's only dry Friday they have a total fan, today it's just till the parade is finished.

    I think they may have one year banned selling drink until after the parade in Dublin but apart from that..... yeh - of course you can buy drink in the offy - it's Paddy's day for flip sake - the one day you HAVE to be allowed to drink!

    there open down this way anyhow, just passed by one and went into lidl for some cheap cider and was told by the one at the counter that my driving license wasnt real because it wasnt pink(she was irish too), oh how i lolled

    motorcycles are exempt from that rule as its illegal to carry a passenger ;)
